The post that Madiator probably generated with AI, as I already observed in the comment section under the post, compares AI to a calculator, freeing the mind of the person from trying to think thoughts and instead focus on doing deeds.
A calculator is a very useful tool. I own a few actual calculators ( not built-in into computers ) that I use for various things, where math is not trivial. A calculator is a precise machine built specifically for precision. It still does errors, since math itself is a weird field, not always compatible with limited memory of ones and zeros. But most calculators approximate closely enough for most uses today when dealing with strange numbers. And are extremely precise tool when dealing with normal, easily programmable numbers.
Imagine instead of being specifically designed for calculating, it would arrive at answers for math questions, using an algorithm that searches through a database and tries to come up with a statistically the most plausible answer. So many problems arrive from that approach. What if the database is corrupted?, and it will be, since manually sorting through billions of entries needed for today's AIs is physically impossible, let alone to judge every single entry and make sure that they are all properly correct. Especially when it comes to not trivial subjects, like complex math, or physics or similar things. By default the training data of the AI system is garbage. And when garbage comes in, garbage comes out.
It means that AI systems are very limited with what applications they can be used for without the use being a problem. Any serious decision making job is out of the question from the beginning. AI is by default not qualified to do any such job. But that doesn't mean that there aren't things AI is qualified to do.
Drawing pretty pictures is something that might not need, at first glance, some sort of expertise. If the picture turns out ugly nobody will get hurt by it. Yet with this a different problem arrives. Those who make their living by drawing pretty pictures are rightfully outraged with AI being cheaper than hiring them. Being faster than hiring them. And complaining less than them. Making it the first choice when corporate overlords need a drawing.
There is a problem with it and people are reacting. As an audience member I do not want to know that the art I experience was generated. I want to see hard work. I want to see passion. I want to see artists do something difficult enough that the respect alone, for the stamina to craft it, makes me required to take a look at the product. Non of this is present with AI.
Some AI is harmless based on this idea. Avatar 2 was impressive by all means even though they used some sort of AI to help them translate the performances more accurately to the 3D characters. Blender movies like
Moria's Race are still taking 3 and a half to meticulously craft, even though it uses a
machine learning denoiser filter.
Using AI respectfully is possible. It just you need to know that most of the times when you use it, it just comes off as lazy.

As you probably understood, this website is running on something I call
BDServer and lately
@Madiator2011 made a blog using this software, and this is a test of sorts at interoperability between the two websites.
The idea I have with this, is that to support free discussions simple short comments are usually not enough, and long article-worth replies are needed. Which could be linked in the way that I implemented.
Happy Hacking!!!
