&gt And Enoch began his story and said: - There was a righteous man whose eyes were opened by the Lord, and he saw a Holy vision in the Heavens, which the Angels showed to me. And I heard everything from them, and I understood what I saw: but not for this generation, but for a distant generation that will come.

What can be said about Spielberg's *[Disclosure Day](https://blenderdumbass.org/reviews/disclosure_day_2026_is_quintessentially_spielberg)* that is not going to be completely wrong?

Listen, I do not know how describe the movie. Besides the obvious fact that it is the most Spielberg Spielberg can ever Spielberg. It starts off with people in the boxing ring, from the first perspective. Which is quite queer to me, since in school there was a special event, when an actual director came. He helped us make the short movie, 'twas a film that started out in the first person boxing ring. Except for feeling the feeling of despair and destitute, by being beaten down, there was this sense of strength.

Did the short film me and my classmates made predict the essence of Spielberg's *Disclosure Day*? No, former is a horror movie with a romcom ending, while the latter is... ah... an alien movie.

In a way, I want to believe that we were echoing what Spielberg would do later. I was in the 9th or so grade when the short film was being made. That was 4 or so years ago. 4 years ago was 2022. Spielberg started work on *Disclosure Day* in 2023... Hold on, maybe there is a tie.

Maybe, maybe we were messengers, maybe we were passengers before the final message came to Spielberg?

&gt Now Listen! He comes with ten thousand Holy Ones; to execute judgment upon them and to destroy the ungodly, and to contend with all flesh concerning everything that the sinners and the ungodly have said and done against Him.

In our short film, titled *Locked-in in School* I played the big bad demon, ought to get the souls of those who disturbed my sleep. In both films there is this sense of dread. In both films humans are at the mercy of the God.

In Spielberg's case, the God are aliens. In our film, the God is fate itself. Call them [Moirai](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moirai) or whatever will you, but there was a force acting upon them. In our movie, the rebels are murdered one by one, in quite comedic fashion. That's due to directorial failure, rather a creative decision.

Even though I see this connection, the thread connecting the films, I cannot say 'tis true. Certainly whatever we did in the 9th grade had nothing in the choice of Steven Spielberg.

By listening in to the actual beat, meaning, essence of both films, you'll come to realize they're just coincentaly connected. These are not [twin films](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin_films).

Even so, I wish to believe these films are linked. Their genesis is the around the same time. There must be a connected, yet I am not progenitor of it. The entire group were the screen writers. I did not speak my opinion of the matter, since my film proposal was rejecting of being too queer. And I do not meant that kind of [Queer](https://blenderdumbass.org/reviews/queer___2024___is_an_indiana_jones_movie_in_a_style_of_david_lynch).

Spielberg's film is undoubtetly his. Since the first scene smoothly zooms into a man sitting amongst the rivetting audience. He stands out from his calm, concern even. We see the camera come closer to him, but as it does, the fight is still being seen. How? Well, there is a monitor above the protagonist's head, showing the fight.

This young lad, Daniel Kellner ([Josh O'Connor]()), is not your typical super genius computer nerd, he is the embodiment of Spielberg's father, an IBM employee, Arnold Spielberg. Both share this spiritual connection. As portrayed in [The Fabelmans](https://blenderdumbass.org/reviews/how_the_fabelmans_traumatized_me) by the character of Burt Fabelman ([Paul Dano]()), he has this composure and calm within him. Always in control of his body and mind. Although time to time, in the clouds of computing and mathematics.

We just saw Daniel scribble equations and interpret extraterrestrial language as that of universal language - mathematics. This is your conventional *ordinary people in extraordinary situations* plot stuff. Yet, hmmm, there is something off, something oddly close to heart about that mathematics part.

Listen! I think I've found the missing link between me and Spielberg's film. When my classmates were shooting at another place, I was not needed, so I spent a good hour alone. I was bored, not sure what to do. So I decided to boot up the smart board and scribble something. Scribbles kept getting more and more of a shape until they became equations.

I was computing the critical points of various cubic equations. I did all calculations by hand, no calculator, just my head. The math called to me. I did not notice how the sun set and the night sky unfolded itself. I was utterly lost in the points on the smartboard, the only source of light. The coordinates were my stars, they were guiding my hand through the equations. Various cubic equations. This flow continued, until I got interrupted by the lights outside of the window. My classmates had returned.

They were curious what I did, I answered them: I crunched quadratic formulae on the whiteboard. One asked to show them, to see the proof. He wished for disclosure of facts. The truth I had wiped off.

This is the link between Spielberg's *Disclosure day* and my time at the school. This was the thread of union. Now I know. There's no need for both films to have an automobile crashing into a train, there's no need to have smoke in the room, there's no need for mirror shots. All of that is not needed. What is needed is a small tale, a belief that cannot be shaken, that if you listen hard enough, and you believe truly in something greater than yourself. Then the truth may disclose itself, revealing a language you've never heard of before, but always felts its presence.

&gt And in those days Uriel answered me and said to me: “Listen, I have shown you everything, Oh Enoch. And I have revealed everything to you, so that you may see this Sun, and this Moon, and those who lead the Stars of Heaven, and all those who turn them, their tasks and their times and their rising.
