A lot of people think that casting of
Danny Glover as the tough policeman in
Predator 2 was a stupid ass decision. I like it though. This makes this movie feel like I'm watching a strange sequel / version of
Lethal Weapon just this time, instead of
Mel Gibson playing the new partner, we get
Bill Paxton, who foreshadows the connection of this films to the
Alien franchise.
At one point the composer
Alan Silvestri includes a piece from Alien, when Danny Glover comes into a room full of skinned hanging up-side-down mobsters. And in the end of the film, absolutely clearly, without a single shadow of a doubt the film actually shows a scull of a Xenomorph. So let's not blame
Paul W. S. Anderson for the combination of those two franchises. Let's blame
Stephen Hopkins instead. Or more like let's blame
Jim Thomas &
John Thomas, because they were the writers.
This film also contains a "short orgasmic blackout" thing I talked about in my review of
Balerina. In short it happens to me when I see a tough AF very cute woman. Something in my mind snaps when it happens and I feel really fucking good. This movie did that to me in the form of
Maria Conchita Alonso's character Leona. I kept screaming to the screen the whole movie, how much of a crush I have on her.
In short the film is a B movie through and through. And that is why the rating is so low. The marketing suggested this is an A movie. And the critics didn't fucking get the joke. Hell the film even has
Robert Davi in it. How isn't it a B movie?
Happy Hacking!!!
