I'm Not Even Human is a dystopian short film I directed in 2018. I'm Not Even Human ( The Game ) is a game in the same universe and with same characters as I'm Not Even Human. The game is done in pixel art style drawn primarily by ayyzee ( ayyzee.net ). The game engine is written almost from scratch by me. Using python, GTK and Cairo.

Originally I wanted to make a 3D open-world game. But Blender Game Engine would crash way to often when I tried loading parts of the world dynamically. Later I've lost the project entirely. The only remaining thing from the project is the rig of the main character which is standing as a statue in the world of J.U.M.P Limited. ( Technically speaking I have a model of another character, without textures and without a rig, standing as a statue in a world of Moria's Race ).

Anyway, since I didn't have the assets anymore. And I didn't want to re-do them. I decided that I might as well make the game in 2D instead. I asked ayyzee for a help to draw pixel-art, since he is far better in it than I am. And together we have built something that's working.

Note: The game is nowhere near finished!

I did not expect Spy Kids Armageddon to be any good. It is written and directed by Robert Rodriguez. A guy who doesn't care about quality that much. His view on film-making was shaped by his first filming experience in 1992 when he made El Mariachi. A movie so cheap that it was weird to a lot of people that it was an action film. Rodriguez has this idea that he can cheat his way into making anything at all. Using as he says "creativity instead of money". So most of his movies tend to look like the Star Wars prequels. A lot of pretty noticeable green screen. Tons of CGI where most other people would use practical props. And strange camera work which is probably more dictated by the limitations of his methods, and not by actual directorial decisions.
