Thank you to all those people who signed the petition. You made it so now Dani's Race v2024-09-25 is finally available to the public to download, play and explore.

As you can tell, it took us 117 days to finish this petition, or 4 whole months. I think it is due to the petition being set for subscribers on PeerTube which is far from the most straight-forward thing. I even had to make a tutorial to help people understand how to sign the petition.

But anyway. Even though it was hard, you still did it. So, again, thank you all.

Since the 4 months old version is now released, I started a new petition for the currently hottest version of the game. Version 2025-01-19. This time the goal is 250 followers on the @opensourcegaming@mastodon.social account on Mastodon.

Franzo, the owner of the account, was instrumental to the new improvements of the game, mainly the optimization. The project to fix which were outlined in the livestream report from a few months ago.

So please, help Franzo get his followers, and in the same time, unlock that new version. I hope this time we can do that much faster.

Happy Hacking!!!

Congratulations on getting this version of Dani's Race released, man. Sorry I haven't been around much, life has a way of being complicated... :( But this is a happy time, it's good to get this version out finally and having gotten your petition signed... You sure like to pick ways to sign your petitions that I'm not very familiar with, haha.

Working to make a game which is very hard to optimize a bit more respectable when it comes to performance. Which is easier said than done. This video is a journey of pain that is optimization in UPBGE ( the game engine chosen for Dani's Race ).

Featuring a new soundtracks for Dani's Race called "Light Driving" ( and another one with no proper title yet ) done using soundfont "Touhou" cc-by by Team Shanghai Alice. The tracks themselves are CC-BY-SA and for now a test version of them are available on my mastodon.

The video includes ( at 01:18:53 ) a section from the livestream of LogalDeveloper that happened on his Owncast on 02/05/2025.
