I'm currently under the influence of Antibiotics. I went to the Hospital about pain and inflammation I had in one area of my body. And they confirmed that it was a germ of some kind. So I'm drinking 3 types of pills every-day now. And will continue doing that for at least 10 days going forward.
The doctors shared with me a profound confusion as to the source of said infection. They asked me questions about what I did before it happened. I told them everything. Nothing seemed to make sense. I thought, personally that I must have overdosed on caffeine. About a week ago I had real symptoms of a caffeine overdose. And the pain of this infection I'm currently treating, started on that same day. I put two and two together and concluded that it must have been the cause. But the doctors said that it has no connection what so ever. So I am writing this article while sipping from a can of cola. ( I'm too scared yet from stronger stuff ).
One thing that I neglected to mention to the doctors, which could be the real reason for this strange infection, was to do with the title of this article and a little uncomfortable situation I had while doing my 3D art.
This is a model of a building number 108 near where I live. If you read
my articles about this project you know that I'm trying to develop my own skills ( so to speak ) for a movie project, where it is possible I will need to make similar scenes of real locations, that should be realistic enough to be inter-cut-able with real footage from said location.
My first article about the matter explains the reasoning behind that.
Few days leading to the incident I'm about tell you about, I went shopping and bought a proper, professional tape-measure and a few nice clipboards. One of which I ended up using the same day.
Before I had the tape-measure I was basically guessing the measurements. I had a small 30 cm long metal ruler, with which I could measure some items. Then using those items, like an American, I would use them to measure the street. Say a brick would be about 20 cm. How many bricks in length is that wall? And so on and so forth. Like an American. I ended up being not too far off, but the tape-measure made things so much easier. The same day I bought it I went outside and confirmed that the sidewalks are 2 meters wide. The road is 6 meters wide. And also measured a hell of a lot of other stuff to make my scene more accurate.

Since then I did a detailed map of another building. The brown building in this screenshot. I quickly wrapped my head around the tape-measure. And in the end of the day, when I made the model of this building, I was very happy with how easy it felt, compared to the previous buildings.
So obviously I moved to the next building.
The day, when I set myself out to measure building 108, was rather rainy. And also that day was quite a day, when it comes to implementing new features for this website. I was coding on this bad boy till it was late at night. But I knew that I had to be at work only at 9 AM, which means I can wake up at 8 AM. Which means I have 6 hours of sleep if I push myself till 2 AM. And so at exactly midnight ( 2 hours before sleep ) I took my clip-board and the tape-measure and went towards building 108.
I didn't take an umbrella, but the weather seemed calm. I thought I'd quickly write the damn numbers and run back inside. So there I am, at midnight measuring the distance between a column and an edge, on one of the corners, when a lady slowly approaches me.
She looks seriously concerned. A serious looking motherfucker, with a clipboard, in the middle of the night, is sneakily, measuring the building she lives in. I don't know what she thought. The building is of an older type. In an area where new buildings are being put in place of the old ones. Maybe she was scared I was from a real-estate development company. I don't know what she was thinking, but she freaked out.

I said "It's okay, I'm simply trying to make an accurate 3D model of the whole street.". She looked at me, all confused. The probably didn't understand a single thing I said. And so she said "Who sent you?".
We had a dialogue like this for a few moments:
- Who sent you?- Nobody sent me.
- No, but, who sent you?- I came here alone. Nobody sent me.
- Somebody sent you. Who?- I sent myself.
- What? You're lying to me. Who sent you.
While my adrenaline was rising I was attempting to explain to her what CGI means. When I understood that she is completely clueless about computers, or math, or anything else that could be related to the discussion, I simply tried to argue that I'm doing a drawing. She couldn't understand why a drawing needs a detailed measurement of a building she lives in. And why said measurement should be done at midnight.

A few moments later. After I assured her that I'm not there to harm nobody. And that I'm not going inside of her apartment. That all I want to do there is to measure the stuff from the public side and get out of there, she let me go. But she was strangely around. Kind of looking at me from a far. Checking that I keep my word, or something.
Feeling this nervousness I worked faster. And because I worked faster I wasn't too careful with the tape measure. I almost cut myself with the damn thing a few times. But suddenly, as I'm trying to measure another corner and that lady is still looking at me, the rain starts.
That's when I cut myself with the damn thing. And that was a nasty cut. Think about it. This was a cut, done a by a thing, that laid next to dirty corners of, already, multiple houses. Touching the dirt. God knows what sort of bacteria was on that thing. And I cut myself with it, such that a lot of blood started to pour our. There were 2 additional problems though. I couldn't get home to deal with it immediately because 1) there was a heavy rain all of a sudden and I had no umbrella. And 2) because I didn't finish measuring the building.
So imagine this stupid situation: midnight. A creep that you never seen before probably. With a clipboard and a tape-measure. Bleeding out. Measuring the building you live in, for a fucking drawing or some shit...
Anyway...
I did clean the wound and everything eventually. I didn't spend too much time there. And I ran home through the rain. But maybe, just maybe, the infection I have, might have had something or other do with this cut. I don't know. It seems kind of unlikely that a cut finger would result in an inflammation elsewhere. But who knows what sort of germs where there on this damn thing. As far as I can tell this is the best clue to where it all came from. The timing is nearly perfect. Everything points to that cut. Apart from where, on my body the cut was.
So I don't know. Maybe I am drinking antibiotics now, trying to deal with this whole thing, because of this damn building 108. And the damn lady that scared the shit out of me. Or maybe I just need to invest in some gloves.
Anyway, here is a render of building 108 ( left ). The 3D model I literally bled for.
Happy Hacking!!!
