TrolerAs it is, the movie is infused with Nolan realism. Everything is serious and grim. The contrast between mythological events and reality creates this clash. I have not seen Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, so I cannot tell how much of this juxtaposition has existed before. Still, the contrast of what I saw on screen and how the movie portrayed such events, threw me off the loop.

TrolerThe video shook me up, like no other video on AI had. Since it handled the problem at its root, at what reality this AI was: radical opposition to despair of enforcement. It tackles the problem of having a select few channels of information, providing only limited subset of what may be of specific interest to one, by providing only questions.

TrolerThere's a lot of explosions, a plentiful amount of destruction, a grand amount of military, both in the air, on the ground and in the water. All the things you could ask for. And the Toho miniatures are incredibly detailed, as always. The scrupulous effort put into constructing them, to just be destroyed for a single shot never ceases to amaze me.

TrolerThe movie is not told by walking to various unreliable witnesses. The second protagonist, Dr. Eileen Flax (Lesley-Anne Down) just gets the pieces of the visions, as if this was some sort of Edgar Wright film.

TrolerInstead of an action roller-coaster, the film provides a Sci-Fi political story with a 3 headed Ghidorah. As is the case with previous installments, the costumes were repurposed, just changed to fit the slightly different aesthetic.

TrolerThe 1933 film itself is not too special. For its time, there's a lot to laud. Comparing what Peter Jackson would do later, there's night and day. I do not mean the special effects, which are exceptional.

TrolerThe constant tugging from different sides caused me to become restless. I couldn't find peace in any of the ideas, it was impossible. To admit of one being true, would mean rejecting the other. So I had to pick a side. And I did. I chose those that spoke that the truth was hidden, obscured from me. 'Twas easier to believe that I've been lied to and embrace the truth. For some time I was gratified with what I believed in.
