As you probably have guessed by my username, I know Blender. And I also know how to make
SuperTuxKart addons. So I decided to make a Fedi-based series of tutorials explaining how I go from zero to a finished addon. This first part focuses on Karts ( since they are a bit simpler).
The tutorial is broken up into 4 pieces. And I prepared a
PeerTube Playlist for you to watch. In any case, those are the 4 pieces:
1 - Setup
In this video I show how to install the appropriate Blender add-ons to deal with SuperTuxKart related files. And how an add-on of SuperTuxKart is structured.
2 - Modeling
In this video I show the modeling process of a simple monster-truck. I also go over techniques I learned, work best, for something like SuperTuxKart, which has certain peculiarities. And I also show the techniques I'm using to optimize the model.
3 - Texturing
In this video I show the texturing process of the monster-truck. From UV-Unwrapping, to texture painting, to creating a custom normal map for the wheels.
