Copyright Made People Do Useless Work
Blender Dumbass

Oh the copyright! The system that many believe is there to "protect" artists from exploitation. But the system that is quite clearly one big exploitation in and of it self. I hope that my readers here have a job. Since I want to draw a very interesting parallel. Would you work if there was no contract? Would you do anything if the person that supposed pay you, would not pay you if he didn't want to? Or you would first sign a contract and then do the job? In the world of copyright, there is no contract to sign. There is no boss that will pay you. You have to risk everything to do something that might or might not interest other people in the first place. And no copyright will save you if you did something so utterly uninteresting that nobody will even pay you for it. Let's explore this!
Why Age Verification cannot work even for its intended use?

Short answer
People are stupid. But seriously, even though we have a lot of talk about why Age Verification laws are bad ( for human rights ) and how we can fight against them (
EFF just made a comprehensive guide on the issue ) nobody seems to realize the underlying logical fallacy, or multitudes of them, that even brought us to this point to begin with.

How Much Money Am I Losing

When people see
my film, or how versed I am in computers, they are often confused. I work a minimum wage job as a cashier. And before that I worked a number of jobs all of which were minimum wage, or slightly above minimum wage. Those jobs aren't particularly challenging, unless they are physical. So I don't have very much to complain. As a cashier I actually enjoy working. I get to talk to various people. And get to sit in front of a computer all day long. So what is there to complain about? Yet, whenever people find out that I know programming or that I can do movies, they often assume that I should not "waste my time" at a job like this, and instead work something a bit more prestigious.

People change. People change! People grow. People adopt. People change their minds about things. People learn new things everyday. People form opinions. People change. And so have I. I notice something rather strange about people that come into contact with me without prior knowledge of what I do and how I think. I remember the other day on mastodon being bombarded with hate for seemingly no reason what so ever. I either said something good about Richard Stallman, or said something slightly too vague about one thing or another. I know I held opinions that I'm not proud of today. I know I probably have opinions right now that I will change in the future. People change.
Therefor I decided that it would be a good idea, both for the sake of my mental health and just as an example of said change, to talk to you about myself. To psycho-sexually analyze what I stand for. What I believe in. And most importantly: how I got to this point. How I changed to be where I am today. Yet, in a strange kind of way I am slightly afraid of strangers when it comes to my psychology. It is my private life, after all. And I don't want to reveal everybody everything about me. The good, the bad and the ugly. And then the ugly, the bad and the good. I don't want to give haters the platform to hate. So I suppose this is the perfect excuse to use the
fediverse gimmick I came up with, the other day. Basically you have to be at least somewhat of a fan of me and / or my work, in order for me to feel okay with sharing with you all this private, highly emotional, stuff. Don't worry about it. If you are a fan, this is going to be a piece of cake for you. The website will just check that you are, and everything is going to be okay. For everybody else, perhaps, this article isn't for you.

Con Air 1997 is Bayhem! but Rick-Rolled

Producer
Jerry Bruckheimer didn't only work with the legendary
Michael Bay. He worked with other legends too, like
Tony Scott and in the case of
Con Air Simon West who directed the
Rick Astley music video
Never Gonna Give You Up. Yet probably due to it being the first collaboration of Bruckheimer and West ( because it is West's directorial debut when it comes to feature films ), Bruckheimer steered him a bit to copy a style of another director he worked with. Michael Bay.

The Police-Force Paradox

In 2011, French writer and director
MaΓ―wenn Le Besco went to the police station in Paris in order to try to get some information about how the police works. The research she ended up gathering, ended up portrayed in her 2011 film
Polisse about which I
already wrote a review. But one thing about this movie suck with me. And if the intention of the film was to shine light on the police-work, this means that to some extend that thing that stuck with me shows a certain, very depressing truth about the world that I don't know how to process quite yet.

While
James Cameron has
denied that
Avatar 3: Fire and Ash used any generative AI. On January 24, 2026
Joe Letteri ( the visual effect supervisor from Weta Digital ) sat with the
Corridor Crew for their weekly show of
VFX Artists React where
he said that the facial animation for the hero characters for both
Avatar 2 and
3 involved a
neural network. A
neural network? Isn't that a fancy way to say "AI"?

The Audition 2015 is an interesting short-film, when it comes to film history

You may think that 2023
Killers of the Flower Moon is the first time
Leonardo DiCaprio have worked with
Robert De Niro. In fact the first time was 30 years earlier in 1993 with
This Boy's Life. Yet a lot of people will suggest
Killers of the Flower Moon is still at least the first time both DiCaprio and De Niro worked with
Martin Scorsese. That is also not true. That would be 2015's short-film, directed by Scorsese called
The Audition.

Kids Should Be Told More Complex Stories

People are flawed. All of us are. Each has something stupid about. And the funny thing is, it's impossible to avoid people either. We had tried! Lock-downs didn't work. People want to be with other people. And it's preferable that people would be with other people often. Communication is often a key to good psychological state. If we don't want all people to turn to murder maniacs we should never allow lock-downs to happen.

Critics often think Michael Bay doesn't give a damn about characters, but how can you believe that when everything in the film is shut deliberately to be from a perspective of a character? Michael Bay is
Lars Von Trier of action. Lars uses strange chaotic camera work and weird editing choices to elevate the emotion on screen and Michael Bay uses chaotic camera work and weird editing choices to elevate the emotions too. If you take him seriously everything clicks into place. It's just Michael Bay likes it louder.
