Scene 3
Dani's Race is a story-based game set in an open world, without cut scenes. Making the story work in this world is kind of complicated. Therefor it takes a lot of a time. Version 2025-03-17 finally includes another story mission. The mission number 3.

This mission also contains a cross collaboration with Franzo who you may know from the previous petition, and his car game Wasted.
Arrest Mechanic
Some time ago I wrote an article which talked about a possible system to make Police in the game more interesting. Because the game has no cut-scenes, the police will actually need to arrest you, drive you to the stations and put you into prison. This system is now implemented in version 2025-03-17.

For this to be possible a new system for NPC interactions was written, making the game a little bit more fun when it comes to creating mayhem in the city.
Scooter
A lot of people ( that didn't use cheat-codes ) complained about not having any vehicle on the very start of the game. Even the garage where the cars are saved, isn't really accessible quickly. So I decided to put a small 2 wheeled vehicle for Dani in his room.

For this one vehicle a whole system of custom vehicle animations had to be made. Allowing in the future, to make wacky vehicles. And also allowing to make 2 wheeled vehicles. So expect in the future to get bikes, bicycles and more.
More performance options
Since the last version of the game there was a yet another livestream by Franzo focusing on the performance improvements that I made for that version. This was a great improvement, yet I thought I could do better. So I added a lot more options to the settings, which allows you to take control over what the game will try to render. Possibly making the game work on even lower end device. While also allowing for a better looking game for those that have the machine power.
Why Rowdy Joe?
You maybe wandering how is it that I want you to follow not something of mine, but rather an account of somebody else, to sign this petition.
RowdyJoe is a famous SuperTuxKart player. Which means he is very good with car games. His computer is strong enough to run Dani's Race on a respectable performance. And he is a GNU / Linux user. Making him the perfect beta-tester for the game.
From the beginning of Dani's Race development I was sharing builds of the game with RowdyJoe and laughing with him about how broken and silly everything is. Until eventually the game started resembling something rather serious. And now RowdyJoe became pretty much the main beta-tester of the game.
More than that, RowdyJoe also contributed code, and code reviews to the game. Tuning the pursuit NPC algorithms. Helping with making the racing algorithms more competitive and even helping with the code for the Multiplayer.
This is why I want to help RowdyJoe with this petition.
Rowdy Joe is new to the whole Fediverse thing. He has been operating a YouTube Channel for a very long time. And I convinced him to open a mastodon account and a peertube account. He posted one video to his peertube and forgot about it. Continuing to post primarily on YouTube. And he made like a few posts on mastodon and forgot about it too. This is probably because nobody is following him there. So he feels no need to do anything to make those platforms work for him.
This petition is focused both on increasing Rowdy Joe's reach, and both on increasing his interest to the fediverse. This is why I thought choosing specifically his mastodon account for it made a whole lot of sense. He can post links to his youtube. And thus find value in mastodon. While you can comment to him under those posts to post those same videos on peertube too. Or something...
