Long time ago one of the only games that worked on GNU / Linux was Trackmania. Since then GNU / Linux started supporting way more games. And I stopped playing proprietary games. But there was nothing wrong with channeling the nostalgia and trying to make an insane track for SuperTuxKart.

I used to work on a Warehouse. And while I was there I always imagined to race the whole place through. So I made a warehouse track. It's inaccurate in a lot of ways. But it's fun. And that's the most important part.

I was pissed that nobody watched my film Moria's Race. And so to calm myself down I've put 3 of my films into a cinema. And made a racing track through it.

The game has a GNU mascot which is just a gnu flying on a carpet. But I think they were going for the famous Richard Stallman look with it. Where he used to put a funny shirt and pretend to be a wizard. I was inspired by it. To be honest since then RMS got cancer. And he doesn't look like a wizard anymore. Hope he will get better.

I was walking outside of my house the other day and decided to procrastinate away from the Moria's Race project and instead recreate the area and make a SuperTuxKart track from it.

For the promotion of the movie Moria's Race I made several addons for SuperTuxKart. And I think that they were somewhat successful. They consist of various characters and areas from the film, converted to the format of the game. Some changes also include resizing normal sized cars from the film, into caricatured versions that look consistent with the rest of the game.

If today we have a lot of films to choose from when we want to shock ourselves beyond believe: from barely serious, yet distrusting films by Eli Roth through intense hyper-violence by Coralie Fargeat or depressing looks at the world by Lars Von Trier all the way to deranged films like The Serbian Film, in 1970s you had probably only one true contender for such a level of derangeness. And it was the Tobe Hooper's 1974 film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
I gave a look at the movie nobody seen in cinema this summer called Red Sonja, because the main character is played by Matilda Lutz, an Emilia Clarke look-alike that was very good in a Coralie Fargeat 2017 film Revenge. You may know Fargeat from her other film The Substance. Lutz was so perfect in Revenge and Revenge was so good, that I wanted to see more of Lutz. And then the trailer of Red Sonja dropped, advertising it as a yet another revenge flick, this time set in a medieval fantasy world. So of-course I was hooked.
Meta ( allegedly ) tried to hire 3D artists to justify in court that 3D art is apparently so easy and quick to make, that it is uncopyrightable, so they could not ask for permission from 3D artists for training their AI.
There is a war between artists and Artificial Intelligence people. AI is primarily useful today to those people who want to avoid the hassle of doing something impressive, while still maintaining an image of impressiveness. Artists, on the other hand, who's whole being is in grinding themselves into true impressiveness are not satisfied with AI being used to replace their labor with cheap, algorithmic knock-offs. One such machine learning algorithm, though, had found its way into millions of artist's work-flows, which they don't seem to care much about. And I'm talking about the Intel's Open Image Denoise found inside of Blender.
How hard is it to make a spiritual successor to one for one the most iconic stories in cinema history? One thing is certain, once the image is formed of what that franchise is about, it is difficult to divert from it. Rodan tries the difficult task of both appeasing the general audience, who want a movie about giant monsters wrecking the city and not to retell the same exact story, while keeping it in line with viewer expectations.
