Richard Stallman

The game has a GNU mascot which is just a gnu flying on a carpet. But I think they were going for the famous Richard Stallman look with it. Where he used to put a funny shirt and pretend to be a wizard. I was inspired by it. To be honest since then RMS got cancer. And he doesn't look like a wizard anymore. Moria's Race Addons

For the promotion of the movie Moria's Race I made several addons for SuperTuxKart. And I think that they were somewhat successful. They consist of various characters and areas from the film, converted to the format of the game. Some changes also include resizing normal sized cars from the film, into caricatured versions that look consistent with the rest of the game. ↩ Reply

The Killing of a Sacred Deer 2017 is Yorgos Lanthimos's attempt to show Lars Von Trier how to properly corrupt the audience

I was afraid of 2017 absurdist horror film by Yorgos Lanthimos The Killing of a Sacred Deer, because I know it involves a murder of a child. Ever since Lars Von Trier utterly traumatized me with his depiction of this very thing in The House That Jack Built I avoid movies like this. But seeing Bugonia the other day, where I attempted to psycho-sexually analyse Lanthimos, I realized that I avoided a movie that potentially has a lot of what I need for such an analysis. So I braved myself and saw the damn film. Now I think the film was about corrupting the audience enough that they would feel good about a child being murdered. I'm not joking. That is how the movie is structured.

It is quite funny to me that we live in the world full with people that contradict themselves whenever possible. Politically Conservative people tend to always bring up "Free Speech" whenever Liberal-minded people disagree with their opinions. Yet they are also very much in the business of censorship themselves. We saw that with Florida's Book Bans and we now see it again with Pepper & Carrot. A comics from David Revoy that was attacked recently by those unable to see people expressing love to one another.

Nicolas Winding Refn seems to be making only cult-classics. His 2011 Drive was a moderate box office success. But a banger of a cult-classic later on, as people understood that it is not a mere action film. Then he made Only God Forgives. A strange psycho-sexual movie where the plot lives in the crack-space between reality and dream-land. The film got misunderstood and barely made its money back. Yet those people who like it, like it very much. And then he made a straight box-office disaster The Neon Demon that made only half of its ( rather small $7.5 million ) budget back. Yet it is seems like it's the kind of movie that just begs for a deep analysis.

Snake Eyes 1998 is De Palma's attempt at restoring his Hitch spirit

Watching the opening scene of Brian De Palma's 1998 film Snake Eyes makes you realize that this motherfucker is trying very hard. We have 13 minutes of Nicolas Cage running around a very crowded set. The scene is clever with its camera, giving us multiple layers of exposition in the same time. Like there could be a TV on the foreground and Cage on the background. And they seem unrelated at first, but the scene establishes most of it's plot details right in this very shot. And then the shot ends ( 13 minutes later ) at the exact moment, the script drops the "inciting incident". De Palma is really trying hard to direct the shit out this movie.

Everybody inside of Israel was shocked on October 7 2023, because nobody... NOBODY expected something on this scale to happen. Mossad and Shin Bet ( Israeli Intelligence Agencies ) are some of the best in the world. And the military is some of the most advanced. And yet it still happened regardless of all these things. What the hell went wrong? Well the official reason sounds something like "There was an intelligence error". But if you dig a little deeper, you start to realize that it is not as simple as you think. And it might be the first true example of a lot of people losing their lives to skynet.

One Battle After Another 2025 is PTA doing a Machete remake

In my review of Robert Rodriguez's film Machete Kills I speculated that Quentin Tarantino introduced a small reference to Grindhouse movies in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood to fulfill a rather outlandish promise from the fake trailer of Machete 3 in the beginning of Machete Kills. That there would be a Grindhouse movie with Leonardo DiCaprio. I think Paul Thomas Anderson just beat Tarantino in this regard. His 2025 film One Battle After Another ( starring DiCaprio ) is a straight up remake of the first Machete.
